Au revoir, France!

Saying goodbye to Carlos is never easy. I am always very sad and need a few days to feel comfortable again being alone. The thing is, I know that I can do it by myself and I can also enjoy traveling solo. I've done that many times before. However, it's not the same.

France made it a bit easier for me. I woke up with a beautiful sunrise the next morning and the drive along the Pyrenees was stunning!

Next stop was Lourdes. Not that I intentionally planned to go there, but it was on the way and so I thought: Why not!? :) I didn't even go to the famous sanctuary. That is not something I am really interested in and I am always trying to avoid people. Instead I stayed at the Lac du Lourdes, walked around the lake and had a nice swim. Yeah, it was still warm enough for going swimming in the lake although it was a bit rainy :)

The next morning the universe sent me a beautiful rainbow which is always a good sign...

Since the weather was not the best, I kept driving and passed Bayonne and Biarritz without stopping. This area was super busy with loads of traffic! I guess it was because of the weekend. Or maybe this region is always busy!?

And then... without really noticing I crossed the border to Spain :) Au revoir, France!!! Thanks for having me! Although I only saw a tiny bit of this huge country, I really enjoyed it and had a great time. I can really imagine coming back to France and explore the Atlantic coast with the van. Let's see...

    Hi beautiful,
what a nice France-trip! I am envious: im Odenwald it's minus degrees and snow everywhere! Would have loved to share your swim.
Safe journey and lots of beautiful new impressions wish Annette, Sabine & Martin
